The SS Francis Fladgate. Serviced Deptford Power Station from South Wales. A Builders or Boardroom Model of a Cargo Ship. First half of the 20th century. In a glass case. The hull painted in red and black. The superstructure painted in cream. The funnel in red and black and painted with the initials CEA. C.E.A Collier. When Britain nationalised its electricity suppliers in 1948 and gas suppliers in 1949, the new British Electricity Authority (later the Central Electricity Authority), North Thames Gas Board and South Eastern Gas Board all inherited flatiron fleets from their predecessor companies.
